Welcome to Isabel’s Gift, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting families with sick children in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Read on to learn more about how we are helping NICU families in need...and how you can get involved, too!

Our organization has its roots in personal experience - in 2002, our daughter Isabel was sent to the NICU at Anne Arundel Medical Center, diagnosed with a serious cardiac condition, and eventually transferred to the NICU at University of Maryland Medical Center where she spent more than two months being treated. She is in good health today, but the experience changed our family forever. We realized how frightening it can be to have a sick baby, and how critical it is to have friends and family to rely on during what can be a very long, horrific ordeal.

Unfortunately, many families don’t have this all-important support system. That’s where Isabel’s Gift comes in. Our Mission? To provide NICU families compassionate assistance in their most desperate hours, with:

• the practical items needed to endure long hours waiting by their child's bedside;
• the "intangibles" necessary in a time of crisis - information, emotional support and a listening ear;
• a safety net so they don't feel alone, confused, or forgotten during their NICU stay; and,
• a supportive community of caring they can rely on in their time of need.

Our goal? To create a safety net so families in need don’t feel alone, confused, or forgotten during their NICU stay, and develop a community of caring they can rely on.
